Reconnected. And it feels so good.

I didn’t set a goal when I cancelled my internet ten months ago.  I was just trying to cut monthly costs and see how long I could live without the trappings of our high-tech lives.  Ten months. Ten LONG months.  And that’s with work access and the occasional wireless connection here and there.  Moral of my story? I can totally live without a smartphone, and I’ve lived without cable for ten years now.  But I’m not sure I can every live without the internet again. So worth the additional drain on my ever-leaking wallet.

I wish I could stay stick around and wax philosophical, but I have a Netflix account to resume.  I hope I can still stream Murder, She Wrote.

  1. I love the way you challenge yourself to see what you can live without. I would have drawn the line at the internet. It keeps me close to my friends so far away. It also helps me meet new people nearby. And let’s face it…I’m a homebody. Without the internet, I wouldn’t know there was a world out there.

    1. I am exactly the same! But I knew I’d have access at work, and I could go to the library on the weekends if I needed. But it just isn’t the same. I need those connections, and I need then when I need them. Plus, do you know how hard it is to do landscaping/renovation projects without Google? I seriously don’t know how we lived without the internet these last million or so years.
