In November, 2001, I purchased a fixer-upper in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. The house was tiny, 100+ years old, and on the cusp of being condemned – the perfect subject for honing my elementary construction skills. My original plan was to work on the house while attending graduate school, flip it, make a few bucks, then go on my merry way.
But somewhere along the line, this little house became my home.
So, here I am, still renovating at a snail’s pace, creating more mistakes than successes, and not giving up – yet. I have no long term goals; I just want to play and discover and create and enjoy every little revelation and evolution along the way.
Aside from renovating, I am an avid gardener and aspiring artist. I am frugal to the bone, frightfully independent, and devoutly non-traditional. In short, I just like doing what I do and have no interest in being anyone but me.
